  • Meet Dr. Barry R. Stein

    Dr. Stein has provided state of the art oral and maxillofacial surgery since joining Tri-County Oral-Facial Surgeons, P.C., in 1980. Dr. Stein earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He completed his surgery internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh and is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His special interests are in jaw surgery and implant surgery. He is Board Certified by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology. To ensure the safety in the administration of general anesthesia, he has volunteered his services as an office anesthesia evaluator for the state of Pennsylvania.

    Dr. Stein is a leader in his profession. Currently, he is chairman for the committee on membership for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also chairman of the credentials committee for the Mount Nittany Medical Center, a position he has held for over 20 years. Dr. Stein has held many positions in the national, state and local dental and oral maxillofacial surgery societies.

    He lives in State College with his wife, Ellen, and is an exercise enthusiast.

  • Meet Dr. Stephen L. Engroff

    Dr. Engroff earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Maryland. His extensive education includes a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Oncology at the University of Maryland. He received the prestigious Intern of the Year Award for General Surgery in 2000. He is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and trained in all aspects of anesthesia administration to ensure your safety and comfort.

    In 2003, Dr. Engroff joined Tri-County Oral-Facial Surgeons, P.C. His special interests include head and neck tumor surgery, trauma, and jaw and implant surgery. With his extensive education and clinical experience, he has helped patients in the treatment of head and neck cancer and reconstruction of complex deformities of the bony and soft tissues of the face.

    The profession of dentistry is a family affair for Dr. Engroff. His wife, Dr. Diane Ray, is a practicing orthodontist. They enjoy living in State College.
