Meet Dr. Stephen L. Engroff

Dr Engroff earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Maryland.  His extensive education includes a residency on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Oncology at the University of Maryland.  He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and trained in all aspects fo anesthesia administration to ensure your safety and comfort.

In 2003, Dr. Engroff joined Tri-County Oral-Facial Surgeons, P.C.  He continues to be excited about wisdom teeth removal and the other core oral surgery procedures.  His special interests include outpatient anesthesia, dental implant reconstruction and orthognathic surgery.  

The profession of dentistry is a family affair for Dr. Engroff.  His father is a retired dentist.  His wife, Dr. Diane Ray, is a practicing orthodontist in State College.  They enjoy living in Centre County with their two children.

When not in the office, Dr. Engroff is often at his children's activities and occasionally finds time to do some fly fishing.

Meet Dr. Jeremy J. Hanlon

Dr. Jeremy J. Hanlon is a Board Certified Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon originally from Loretto, Pennsylvania. He received his Masters of Physician Assistant Science degree from St. Francis University in 2005. He worked as a Physician Assistant for 3 years in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery before beginning dental school. In 2012, he graduated from Temple University’s School of Dentistry, Summa Cum Laude, and was also elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society.

After graduation, he accepted a commission as an Officer in the United States Army and went on to complete his 4-year Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia. Following his residency, he served for 4 years as staff and mentor at the oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program at Ft. Bragg, NC. During that time, he also served as mentor to the 2-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) program and as Chief of the OMS department during his last 2 years. Throughout his military service, he was awarded 3 Army Achievement Medals, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Meritorious Service Medal.

Dr. Hanlon is a Diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery, and a Diplomat of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery.

​

He has a strong interest in dental extractions, including wisdom teeth, dental implants, bone and soft tissue grafting, orthognathic surgery, and facial trauma. He is passionate about providing excellent care to his patients and keeping up with the latest techniques to improve their surgical outcomes. He is confident in knowing that he can provide intravenous sedation and general anesthesia to his patients, especially to those who have severe dental anxiety.

When he is not providing care to his patients, he enjoys running, golfing, working out, and being outdoors. Most of all, he loves spending time with his wife, Stephanie and his two children, Hudson and Caroline.

Meet Michelle Fanning-Hursh

Michelle Fanning-Hursh is a Moshannon native and now lives in State College. She has earned degrees and certifications as an RN, RN first assistant, and most recently her BSN and CRNP (family nurse practitioner) from Penn State. She has 29 years of experience assisting in a variety of specialties, including the new robotics programs at Mount Nittany Medical Center, where she assists Dr. Engroff with all of his surgical cases. She is licensed by the state, certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and a member of the PA Coalition of Nurse Practitioners.

​

While completing her master’s degree she worked with PSU medical students as their nurse practitioner liaison to launch and run LionCare, a free student-run clinic for the underserved in Tyrone. Additionally, she did a clinical rotation serving a hospital in Ghana, Africa.

Tri-County Oral-Facial Surgeons, P.C., has a caring and highly trained staff of twenty-one experienced clinical and administrative professionals.

They are dedicated to their professions and regularly attend continuing education classes in order to maintain up-to-date knowledge of surgical techniques, anesthesia, administrative and OSHA regulations, coding and other topics.
